I purchased my Edirol R-09HR from Amazon intended for $263. It's an excellent recorder. I bought that to record a single acoustic guitar. And also a great job of these. Quite, noiseless along with full fidelity. Possible see that a full CD could become done using simply this recorder. There are a few for good recordings that don't use anything except the Edirol R-09HR on the Edirol site. I haven't tried out the software yet because Relating to Sound Forge Music Studio and Sonar 6 that both look like they do an complete job of using the services of sound files.
I tried out there the Pyro software and it's pretty good for those who have nothing else. Many effects and modifications may be added to the recording.
Another thing within the recorder is that the reverb can simply be used in the course of play back. It could be great if you might have it on in the course of recording. Even if it was before just for keeping track of. Hearing the reverb although playing changes the way in which the song will be played. Maybe from now on it could be fixed while using recorder software.
Really the only issue I have while using R-09hr are the accessories. I want youngster should be put the recorder on the mic stand so I purchased the leather case that includes a camera tripod mount that also includes a teeny tiny tripod. So offers good study protection however the little tripod is a cheap product. I had to order the Edirol microphone remain adaptor, another $20 that will fit in the event that that allows me to apply a mic remain. It seems put on put both forms of screw mounts on the leather case in the first place. I have the camera tripod that uses an instant mount show yet wont fit because the case closure straps maintain your quick mount from screwing in the event that. Plus, with so on the recorder, the SD greeting card and USB port are not accessible. The case ought to be removed. The case doesn't seem to be worth the $59 they charge regarding it. I bought that from J&R intended for $47. $30 would certainly seem fair. The mic stand adapter price tag $20. So, youngster should be put the recorder on the mic stand price tag about $68.
We were considering buy the Edirol stereo microphone but spec regarding it are not out there, even on the Edirol site, therefore forget it.
Buy Edirol R-09HR though `cause it's just a great product.

r-09hr user review
After reading some professional r-09hr review, we purchased this for a gift for my son who will be a classically-trained violinist and pianist. Up till now she has used a cassette tape primarily based Tascam to track record his playing and that of his string quartet and her piano trio. I got this Edirol since it was smaller and I thought it would be easier for him to sling around.
What I had been not prepared to get was the extremely top quality of recordings the nuvi 780 makes. My son has been honestly amazed when using the clarity, frequency reaction, lack of static, and open color on the sound recorded. This unit goes beyond the conventional CD resolution (16bit/44Khz) and offers much tight sampling (24 bit) and higher sampling rate of recurrence (96Khz). Does it make a difference? Absolutely. Even my growing old ears could listen to the vibrancy and nuances on the higher sampling. The built-in microphones are usually excellent for this type of portable unit they usually offer a real tonal representation (neither in order to warm nor as well cold) for the piano and for your violin. Those instruments are usually challenging to track record but my child soon found that placing machine about 6' away gave a nice balance between presence and loss of percussive pops or perhaps bow noise. To hear the higher rate of recurrence sampling, we took the audio from the Edirol and fed it directly on the line-input of a large stereo with quality speakers. We then compared an established recording of a violin concerto on the same music recorded within the Edirol at 24bit/96Khz. Your difference in quality, presence, audio depth, and realism has been amazing. The Edirol simply sounded considerably more realistic than did the CD.

Operating the Edirol can be quite simple. My son determined it intuitive and simple to operate.
One gripe: the Edirol will not have a tripod bracket. What you really might like to do is have the Edirol positioned on a mike boom to get positioning. Edirol sells a high-end leather holder that has a mount - but we could not get that. Rather, we made a luxury holder with both a mount to get a camera tripod and a mount to get an audio microphone stand. Works great but this type of mount should be part of your Edirol unit.
Unit has a 512Mb memory unit card with is ample for trial requirements. For serious reording, get two or three 2Gb cards. Since my son will be using the highest quality mode for most of his recording, an 8Gb card will be necessary.
Overall, I'm delighted using this purchase. It has been delivered promptly via Amazon (as is definitely typical), it what food was in great condition, but it performance was simply awesome. Very very good purchase!
